Until a few years ago (pre 2000) most of the ESMM Archive was recorded in paper based scrapbooks, with a few audio and VHS video cassette tapes. In the mid 2000s most of this material was digitised for presentation in these web-based Archives.

Now digital photography is so widespread that there has been an explosion in the number of images available for Archive. This trend will continue with Audio and Video - which poses additional problems with the demand for storage capability.

Our solution has been to split the Audio and Video Archive between material stored directly on this website in either .mp3 / .mp4 or Flash file formats, and material stored on external content storage websites such as Tube and esnips.
